A simple, refreshing whole-food drink that’s ideal for a hot day. The frozen berries are blended until smooth, while the soaked chia seeds remain unblended so as not to disrupt their molecular structure.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • ½ cup cold water (for blending)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup cold water (for soaking the chia seeds)

Method

  1. Add the chia seeds to 1 cup of cold water and allow them to soak for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Blend the frozen berries with ½ cup of cold water until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the chia seed water into a serving glass.
  4. Carefully pour the blended berry mixture over the chia seed water.
  5. Stir gently just before drinking, or leave lightly layered for presentation.
  6. Serve immediately while well chilled.

Why Keep the Chia Seeds Unblended?

The chia seeds are intentionally left whole and are not blended so as not to disrupt their molecular structure. This preserves their natural form within the drink while providing a refreshing contrast to the smooth berry blend.
